What I'd Like
I've got a lot of fantasies, many of which don't seem compatible with the others:
- I've got five small programs in mind; I'd like to learn a language like Smalltalk, Common Lisp, Prograph, or Codeworks to do these properly.
- I want to teach Web publishing and programming to local people who are doing interesting, community-related things, and put the results on this Web site. (This is now in the works; the Computer Access Center's Web pages should be up soon).
- I want to learn woodwork or bicycle repair. (It looks like this is in the works, too).
- Fun Web jobs would include doing a real Pattern Language Web site, setting up a site for the Winston Churchill Archives, and creating a Gesundheit Institute Web site.
- My dream jobs combine computer programming with something physical. It would be fun to teach programming and Web stuff at a small college that specializes in any kind of handiwork. Or to trade Web-work for a cooking job somewhere. Or to learn carpentry from a carpenter that wants to learn programming. Or...
How can you help with these? I don't know, but if you can, please contact me.
My immediate pecuniary desires include:
- Getting some money. If you've downloaded any of the programs and like them, it would be great if you would pay for them. I used to charge a $10.00 shareware fee for Letter Learner; whatever amount you want to give would be appreciated. There are two payment methods available:
- Send a check to Box 1381, Venice CA 90294.
- Use First Virtual to make a payment from here (explanation and setup of First Virtual accounts is also provided).
